How to reach Salerno

By plane

The closest International Airport is Napoli Capodichino. There are direct flights connecting Napoli Capodichino with most European countries. Intercontinental flights usually enter Italy at Rome Fiumicino or Milano Malpensa. There are connecting flights from those airports to Napoli Capodichino.

From the International Airport take a shuttle bus or a taxi to Napoli Centrale (Main Railway Station), from which you can reach Salerno either by train or by bus.

By train

Salerno is one of the main railway station of the Italian railways system. It is conveniently located downtown, within a walking distance from some of the conference hotels. It is also the departing station for the city bus serving the campus. Note that there are three different categories of train serving Salerno:

Eurostar (ES): They stop only at major stations. Those are the fastest and most comfortable trains.

InterCity (iC): They stop only at major stations.

InterRegionali and Regionali: They stop at any station. Mostly used as local trains.

Please, visit the website of the railway company for timetable and reservations.

By bus

There is a scheduled bus service from Napoli to Salerno. Buses usually connect the two railways stations. The ride takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. They are fast and comfortable.

Please, visit the website of the bus company for the timetable.

By car

If you are travelling by car, the best way to reach the campus is thru Autostrada A30 (Highway A30), going from Caserta to Salerno. You can enter the A30 from Autostrada A1 (highway A1), which is the main North-South highway, connecting Milano to Napoli, and passing thru Bologna, Firenze and Roma. After the toll booth follow the signs to Salerno. After 5 km take the exit to Avellino, and then, after 500 meters, take the exit to Fisciano. Follow the signs to Universita’. After entering the campus take a left at the intersection and go straight for about 300 meters until the information booth. Ask at the booth for parking information and conference building.

If you are directed to Salerno, after the A30 toll booth follow the signs to Salerno for about 20 km, until the exit "Salerno Centro". Take the exit and then follow the directions to the city center.
